Authorities to collect data on losses in agriculture sector in Rakhine due to Mocha

Authorities are planning to collect the ground data on losses and destructions in the agricultural sector in Rakhine State as soon as possible after the Cyclonic Mocha swept the region.

The Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Min Naung, addressed it during the coordination meeting that was held on May 17.

The union minister urged to collect the ground information on losses and destructions in the agricultural sector as soon as possible.

The union minister said that negotiations are made with related manufacturers from other states and regions to supply the necessary seeds for crop and vegetable plantations to grow in the rainy season in the disaster affected areas.

What is more, the Agricultural Mechanization Department is scheduling to send experts to fulfill the requirements and to apply the full capacities of the machines from the frontline camps.

The meeting determined that resettlements will be carried out as per the priority.
