SAC to reduce prison terms for Suu Kyi and Win Myint on Full Moon Day of 2nd Warso

The NP News reporter who is arriving in Naypyidaw for the Mara Vijaya Buddha Image consecration ceremony reported that the State Administration Council (SAC) confirms that prison terms for the former State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi and former President Win Myint will be reduced by six years and four years respectively.

Spokesperson of the SAC Major General Zaw Min Tun told the news outlets that “Reducing prison terms for the former State Councilor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will be announced later for the honour of the Full Moon Day of 2nd Warso. Six years in total will be reduced for her. In addition, prison terms for former President Win Myint will also be reduced by four years.”

Suu Kyi has been sentenced to 33 years of imprisonment by the court under Section 505, Natural Disaster Management Law, Telecommunications Law, and Export-Import Law.
