3 EAOs derail from NCA path after 2021 political changes: SAC Spokesperson

Three ethnic armed organizations have deviated from the framework of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) after the 2021 political crisis, the spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC), Major General Zaw Min Tun said yesterday at the 22nd press conference held in Naypyidaw.

Myanmar has been struggling in the armed conflict since she got the independence. Therefore, it is need to end the armed conflict as soon as possible so that Myanmar will be developed, acc Major General said.

Ten EAOs signed the NCA in previous government terms.

“Three EAOs have been deviated from the NCA path after 2021 political changes. But the SAC continues carrying out the peace process in accordance with the NCA,” the SAC spokesperson said.

The NCA-deviated 3 EAOs are KNU, CNF and ABSDF and those 3-armed organizations are participating in the revolution against the current government.

At present, the National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) has been conducting the peace talks a total of 22 times with the seven NCA signatory EAOs and three non-signatory groups in the SAC administration.

Major General Zaw Min Tun continued that the Tatmadaw is continuing carrying out the peace process based on the demands, discussed factors and decisions made by the EAOs in the previous peace talks.
