Myanmar, China talk on accelerating bilateral projects under BRI

Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the news that Myanmar and China discussed accelerating the bilateral projects under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative on the basis of mutual benefit.

The Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar met with Mr. Chen Hai, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China on 23rd October at the Ministry office in Naypyidaw.

During the meeting, they discussed the progress of the "Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership Relations between Myanmar and China" and the acceleration of ongoing bilateral projects in Myanmar-China cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative.

In addition, they also discussed peace, stability, and rule of law along the border areas between Myanmar and China and the repatriation of verified displaced persons from Rakhine State.

The Ministry's announcement also addressed that they also discussed China's ongoing constructive support for Myanmar's development and its collaborative efforts in regional and international arenas, especially within ASEAN and the United Nations.
