Burma Act 2024: United States' another destructive aid to Myanmar approved

Tun Mon Thet (NP News) - April 2

American President Joe Biden signed the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act 2024 last week which allows US$ 121 mln financial aid to Myanmar as per the Burma Act.

The Burma Act, although it claims to provide humanitarian assistance and to strengthen federalism in Myanmar for ethnic armed forces, and pro-democracy groups, clearly states to back and support the destructive entities such as PDF terrorists (what they call People’s Defense Forces).

It states, “technical support and non-lethal assistance for ethnic armed forces, PDFs, and pro-democracy movement organizations to strengthen communications and command and control, and coordination of international relief and other operations between and among such entities:”

Actually, the Burma Act’s ultimate aim can be considered as destroying Myanmar without stability in various parts of the country.

In fact, the technical assistance can be drone technology, techniques for equipping explosive devices; financial assistance to purchase weapons and ammunition, and non-lethal assistance may involve medical supplies on battlefields.

According to the report issued by the GTTAC of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Counter-terrorism, the PDF is responsible for extrajudicial killings happening in Myanmar in the previous years from 2021 to 2023. Other perpetrators, according to the report, involved ethnic armed forces like KNDO (Kayin insurgents), KNDF (Karenni/ Kayah), KIA (Kachin), and CNDF (Chin).

It has been thousands of arbitrary killings against civilians and hundreds of destructions of the State infrastructures from schools, departmental offices, and religious buildings to hospitals by the PDF terrorists and their affiliated ethnic forces since 2021. Turning to the official data, a total of nearly 7,000 civilians, around 80 Buddhist monks, and hundreds of other civil servants were brutally killed by the PDF terrorists in towns and cities, especially in such black areas like towns and villages in Sagaing, Magway regions, Chin, Kachin and Kayin states where non-State troops control.

Mostly, members and supporters of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) amounted to more than 2,000 individuals brutally murdered by the PDF terrorists. Other victims were identified as the families of the Myanmar military personnel, families of police forces, school teachers, and health workers.
The PDF terrorists and affiliated groups (ethnic armed troops) use various inhumane killing techniques and torture. Victims were murdered; some were shot in the head by multiple gunshots; beheaded; dismembered or even mutilated; hands were tied in the back, folded the eyes, and stabbed multiple times in the neck, shoulders, chest, and the injured wounds; while some were set ablaze alive.

Therefore, the United States' financial assistance of US$ 121 million to Myanmar with the Burma Act is nothing more than just an attempt to destroy Myanmar with pieces of pennies.

Myanmar PDF terrorists are said to be the worst, the most disgusted, and the most awful terrorists in the world.

As a matter of fact, during a civil war or whatever on the globe, armed groups have to follow the Geneva Convention. It means no physical or mental torture, nor any other form of coercion, may be inflicted on Prisoners of War (POWs). The POWs who refuse to answer may not be threatened, insulted, or exposed to any unpleasant or disadvantageous treatment of any kind.

However, the PDF terrorists torture and use every possible inhumane investigation technique against the Myanmar army soldiers (Tatmadaw personnel) and police who were arrested by them on the front line.

What is more, the major tactics used by the PDF terrorists and the ethnic armed troops on the battlefields are landmines, Improvise Explosive Devices, drone bombs and drop bombs. Backing and assisting those barbarians to commit terroristic acts and destructions by the U.S. government means the United States is supporting terrorism.

According to the ground situation, the devastating destructive works of the PDF terrorists and the ethnic armed forces involved arbitrary killings of innocent civilians, unarmed village or ward administrators, teachers, healthcare workers, political party members, and the chairman.
