Khit/Narmu (NP News) – December 8
The Union Election Commission (UEC) received a meeting with 53 parties in Naypyidaw, according to Vice Chairman of the Democratic Party U Tin Swe.
The meeting was held on 7 December at an estimated 10 am at the meeting hall of UEC’s Office in Naypyidaw. To the meeting, officials from 53 political parties, UEC, and ministries attended.
During the meeting, the party members reported the estimated conditions and struggles that are expected to occur. The relevant officials from the ministries responded by explaining the political parties' questions.
“Some suggested that the security measures should be under the collaboration of police, security forces, and volunteers to ensure safety. We suggested this way and discussed it,” U Tin Swe said.
He said that only after the election can be presented the public's problems through parliament.
“What we want to say is that once the election is over, we can talk about the people's socio-economic as well as security, and only when the political parties are formed, we can talk about these things. Currently, there are no political sectors for us. Only after the election, we can present the problems of individuals of the public. That is our section,” U Tin Swe explained.
