Major military reshuffles, including changes in Defence Minister

According to the announcement issued by the State Administration Council (SAC) on the evening of December 18, it is reported that General Maung Maung Aye, and the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, Air), has been appointed to jointly assume the duties of the Defence Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister.
According to the announcement, a vacancy has arisen in the position of the Chief of the General Staff.
According to reports up until the evening of December 18, Lieutenant- General Kyaw Swar Lin, the Chief of the Staff (Army), will be promoted to the position of General to assume the duties of Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) at the level of No.3 military leader.
The position of Defence Minister will be taking over from Admiral Tin Aung San, the former Defence Minister.
Admiral Tin Aung San has been reassigned to the roles of Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of the Office of the Prime Minister.
Reports have emerged that Major General Zaw Min Tun, the Information Team Leader, is also set to be promoted to the position of Lieutenant General.
