MOU on three new small development projects gains between Myanmar and India

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) on three new small development projects (SDP) with a strong focus on social infrastructure designed to promote gender empowerment livelihood-linked skilling initiatives and support marginalized sections of society, was gained between Myanmar and India, according to the press released by the Embassy of India in Yangon.
The MOU was signed by Dr. San San Aye, director general of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Government of Myanmar, and Shri Ashish Sharma, deputy chief of mission, Embassy of India, Yangon on 21 January in Naypyidaw.
Among the mentioned projects, two involve support for vocational training and classroom infrastructure at Hoe Science School across 10 states and regions in Myanmar. The project will span 11 cities including Yangon, Mandalay, Mawlamyine, Taungoo, Myitkyina, Pyapon, Pathein, Ywangan, Sittwe, Hkha, and Dawei. The third project will focus on operating vocational training and providing teaching aids for the rehabilitation of ex-drug addicts in five states and regions including Yangon, Mandalay, Kachin, Shan and Kayin, the press stated.
In addition, the framework of the MOU for Indian Grant Assistance for the Implementation of Small Development Projects (SDP) was originally signed on 27 July 2010 and extended twice on 28 July 2015 and 28 July 2020. The Government of India remains steadfast in its commitment to support high impact community development infrastructure in Myanmar.
Furthermore, the Government of India has extended support to various impactful projects, including the Upgradation of the Woman and Children Hospital in Monywa, Sagaing Region: The supply of computers to Sittwe Computer University, Rakhine State, and the supply of Tractors and Crawler Harvesters to Rakhine State. These initiatives collectively highlight our continuous efforts to support the growth and development of women, children, and marginalized communities in Myanmar. –
