Myanmar will continue as a reliable neighbour and good friend of China, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council, at the 2025 Chinese New Year celebration held at the Thuwunna National Stadium 1 in Yangon on the evening of January 25.
He said that China is implementing BRI projects to develop regional countries, including Myanmar, and other countries, rather than focusing on developing its own country alone.
In addition, he said that Myanmar attaches great importance to China's peaceful development and mutually beneficial cooperation as it implements the Myanmar-China Economic Corridor projects.
"Myanmar will continue to stand as a reliable and good neighbour and friend of China by creating a platform for accelerating the implementation of joint projects with China," said the SAC’s Chairman.
Furthermore, the positive discussions and assistance provided by Chinese officials on Myanmar's actions demonstrate that China remains an eternal friend to Myanmar, and the successful steps taken to implement Myanmar's return to the path of genuine and disciplined democracy are also due to the support and assistance of a strong neighbour, China.
He said that officials from both countries and all citizens need to pay special attention to the fact that domestic and foreign groups that do not want friendly relations between Myanmar and China are using various methods to destroy the friendship.
He also said that the two countries need to prove that the friendship that has been established for many years cannot be taken for granted and that no means or actions can destroy it.
