DKBA declares to close game stations near Myawaddy

The Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) has issued a statement ordering the closure of all game stations that are opened under the permissions of the DKBA in and around Myawaddy, Kayin State.
The statement was issued with reference to all military commands, strategies, battalions, departments, and columns of the DKBA following the Central Executive Committee Meeting held on January 31.
The DKBA statement said that all game stations under the responsibility of military commands, strategies, battalions, departments, and columns of the DKBA have to be permanently closed.
On January 15, leaders of the Kayin Border Guard Force (BGF), the DKBA, and Chinese businessmen held an emergency meeting in Kayin State to address the issue of online scams which discussed how to effectively tackle online scams, human trafficking, and cross-border crime.
Similarly, during the meeting, rules and regulations have been set that businessmen who want to invest in Myawaddy Township must follow.
Resolutions of the abovementioned meeting urge the public to inform the authorities if forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, torture, fraud, suspected online scams or any illegal organizations are found or suspected. It is also stated that any actions that are failure to comply with these regulations will result in business closure and deportation.
The emergency meeting was attended by BGF Brigadier General Saw Chit Thu, DKBA Brigadier General Saw San Aung, and Chinese businessmen.
Recently, news were highlighted that Chinese celebrities and models were abducted by the online scam businesses that are reportedly based in Shwe Kokko, Myawaddy District in Kayin State.
