Data collectors for election set fire with gasoline in Yangon’s Dawbon

In Dawbon Township, Yangon Region, in the Kyisu Ward on Dhamma Reitha Road, a man set fire to three departmental personnel who collect data and information for upcoming election with gasoline on February 12, around 12:30 pm, according to local sources.
“A man set fire to the three election registrants who were gathering the population list for the election, using gasoline,” a local source told NP News.
As a result of the fire, a man over 50 years old, a woman, and a 17-year-old girl got burn injuries.
"Three people were burned. The young girl sustained burns on her thigh and shank. The man suffered burns on his entire body, as the fire started from his head. The elderly woman had burns on one side of her body. Local residents quickly intervened and managed to put out the fire," the source said.
Regarding the incident, NP News contacted the Dawbon Township police station for comment, but they did not respond.
Currently, the injured individuals have been sent to Yangon General Hospital for medical treatment, and authorities are continuing efforts to apprehend the perpetrator. –
