Belarusian President Lukashenko has accepted an invitation from the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, to visit Myanmar.

The Belarusian president accepted the offer during a press conference after the meeting between the SAC chairman and the Belarusian president at the Presidential Palace on March 7.

“I would like to thank my friend, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, for the frank discussions during this visit and for expressing his wishes openly. I would like to thank you again for inviting me to Myanmar. I hope that you and I will be able to meet in your country in the near future,” the Belarusian President said.

At the same press conference, the President of the Republic of Belarus reiterated his hope to meet with the SAC Chairman again in Myanmar, following the SAC Chairman's invitation.
“I would like to thank you for inviting me. I will also visit Myanmar. As you suggested, we will also send observers to the elections. Here, I would like to make one suggestion to you. That is, if you think that what you think is good for the development of the country and for your citizens, you should implement it as soon as possible. When you implement it, some people may not like it. Sanctions may also arise. The sanctions that we have, and the sanctions that you have, may be imposed again. When such sanctions are imposed, we consider them a good opportunity, so if we work together more and more, we can implement them the best,” the Belarusian President said.

The SAC Chairman also said that imposing sanctions and pressure will not succeed and will only exacerbate the conflict.

The SAC Chairman mentioned, “Even if sanctions are imposed, the opposing groups in the organizations that are called sanctions will be strengthened by the software that faces retaliation, and this will lead to increased competition and intensity. We should also be aware that imposing sanctions on something they are involved in and applying pressure will never be successful. It will only make the conflict bigger. However, if we work together, we will overcome this. I would like to say that we are ready to cooperate with our partners.”
