MAI provides free transport for quake rescue

Myanmar Airways International (MAI) announced on its Facebook page this afternoon (March 29) that MAI will be transporting humanitarian aid to Myanmar free of charge.

Its statement said that unity is strength in times of hardship, and that as Myanmar faces the devastation caused by the earthquake that struck yesterday (March 28), MAI is fully committed to helping the people by providing emergency relief and assistance to those in need.

Therefore, MAI We Care is taking proactive steps to support the relief and recovery efforts by arranging special charter flights to carry rescue teams & their equipment; FOC essential cargo carriage within & to Myanmar (T&Cs apply); and MAI & Partners’ contributions across the MAI network globally.

“At this critical time, let’s put aside party affiliations, sector affiliations, color affiliations, and ethnicity, and work together to help rebuild the country with a sense of humanity,” an MAI official suggested via NP News.
