Phyo (NP News) - March 30

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), said that security measures need to be systematically implemented in each region and state to ensure the holding of the multi-party democratic general election in December.
The SAC Chairman made the above remarks while attending a meeting of the National Planning Commission held at the meeting hall of the SAC Chairman's Office in Naypyidaw on March 24.
The SAC Chairman said that in order to hold a multi-party democratic general election in December, it is necessary to systematically carry out security activities in regions and states. If the security system improves, domestic and foreign investments will also increase. He called on everyone to work together to make national projects successful.
He also stated that efforts should be made diligently to strengthen the political, economic, and defense capabilities of the country. He emphasized the importance of identifying lessons learned in implementing plans and developing practical methods to effectively carry them out. Additionally, he stressed the need for strict measures to ensure that national development funds are used efficiently and effectively within each respective region, without any waste, in order to promote the country's economic growth.
“Since the SAC took office, it has been seen that the two national goals for the development of the country, namely national prosperity and food security, are being implemented in all aspects. The institutional framework needs to be strengthened in implementing the country's main economic activities. Therefore, in order to accelerate production in the key sectors of the country, the Agriculture and Livestock Development Commission, the Industrial Development Commission, and the Electricity and Energy Development Commission have been established. These sectors must accelerate their development in their respective sectors,” said the SAC Chair.
He also highlighted that while the government is actively working to promote development and strengthen the economy, there are significant damages to the country's infrastructure, which is essential for economic and social progress. This includes roads, bridges, communication towers, power plants, schools, hospitals, and more, caused by destructive activities. These destructions are hindering the country's progress, making it difficult to achieve development in unstable regions, and delaying progress in these areas.
In the upcoming 2025-2026 fiscal year, the SAC Chair emphasized the need to continue and advance ongoing projects such as irrigation and electricity generation. To achieve the nation's goals, there is a pressing need to enhance agriculture and livestock sectors. This includes prioritizing the availability of seeds, land, equipment, and irrigation systems, as well as supporting the development of industries like solar-powered water systems. Additionally, funding will be allocated for programs related to vocational education and job creation. These efforts are essential for promoting economic growth and providing opportunities for the population.
Due to limited financial resources, the SAC Chair authorized the construction of public housing for those working in key sectors such as security, education, and healthcare. These accommodations are essential for staff to live comfortably while performing their duties. Additionally, financial support has been granted for displaced citizens due to violent conflicts, enabling them to receive assistance and participate in rehabilitation efforts. The relevant ministries and regional governments have been tasked with ensuring that the proposed plans are practical and benefit the public. The goal is to ensure these projects are thoroughly reviewed, implemented efficiently, and completed on time to genuinely serve the people’s needs. –
