From May 3 to May 11, a total of three Buddhist presiding monks and three laypeople from Sagaing Region and Pakkoku, Magwe Region were brutally killed by the armed terrorists – so-called ‘2021 crisis revolutionists’.

A presiding Buddhist monk from a faraway village located in Mawlaik Township, Sagaing Region was intentionally and brutally killed by a group of armed terrorists for no reason on May 3 morning, the local news sources told the NP News.

A total of 43 Buddhist monks and one Buddhist nun have been killed allegedly as ‘Informers/ Dalans (traitors)’ since mid-2021 by the terrorists – so-called ‘2021 crisis revolutionists’. The terrorist groups came and intruded into Tatkone Village located in Mawlaik Township and arrested the village’s presiding Buddhist monk. The terrorists intimidated the villagers ‘no movement or no contact to anywhere; if the villagers conduct anything that the terrorists do not favour, the village will be burnt down.'

The presiding monk Sayardaw U Dhamma Pi Ya (57 yr.) with 30 years of monkhood was dragged along the ground from the monastery and shot by the armed group. The terrorists committed shooting leisurely and calmly, according to the source.

Other Buddhist monks were murdered on May 10 and May 11 respectively in Sagaing Region and Magwe Region.
