Myanmar’s SAC condemns assassination attempt on Shinzo Abe

The information Team leader of the State Administration Council (SAC) Major General Zaw Min Tun expressed the SAC’s condemnation of the shooting against the former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on July 8.

The former Prime Minister Abe was shot in Nara on July 8 while campaigning in the city. He is reportedly at the hospital in a life-threatening condition.

“We have learned that the former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot. We are very terrified of the incident. We condemn this assassination attempt. The former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is a good and sincere friend to Myanmar. We wish him a full and speedy recovery,” Major General Zaw Min Tun said.

Abe had frequently visited Myanmar and provided aid to the country.

Major General Zaw Min Tun continued, “Myanmar strongly condemns any person or organization that commits the terrorist deeds of both domestic and external.”

The former Prime Minister Abe had a good relationship to Myanmar since President Thein Sein Administration; offered aid in the country’s rural and urban development projects in both private and public sectors.
