NP News - July 29
Some personnel in the Karen National Union (KNU) advocate following the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) courses. The State Administration Council (SAC) invites those pro-NCA and pro-peace men from the KNU to discuss peace.

Major General Zaw Min Tun, the Spokesperson of SAC’s information team, made this invitation during the press conference held on July 26 in Naypyidaw.

“There are such personnel in KNU who are willing for peace and want to take up the NCA. If they really want peace, the door is opened for all of them to discuss,” Major General Zaw Min Tun said.

Almost all of the Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) have already accepted the terms and provisions prescribed in the NCA and the very NCA was ratified by these EAOs themselves, Major General Zaw Min Tun said.

“Those who do not accept the NCA are the so-called consultants behind the organizations. Most of these manipulators aren’t Myanmar citizens and they do not have their own armed wings. They support the organizations with the purpose of distorting our country’s peace,” he said.

Currently, a total of nine ethnic armed forces have separately met with the SAC Chair. Necessary preparations are being conducted between the government and the peace-attended EAOs for the second time peace talk.

Additionally, it is reported that the government invites some EAOs that do not mention names since those EAOs expressed willingness to discuss with the government for peace.

The Army Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing invited the leaders of the EAOs in April 2022 for peace.
