State of Emergency extended second term

National Defense and Security Council (NDSC) meeting was convened yesterday in Naypyidaw. The state of emergency was extended into the second term of another six months after the Army Chief presented about the current situations of the country, the State Administration Council announced.
Therefore the SAC will rule the State power up to January 31, 2023.
During the meeting, Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented the progress of the country implementations as per the five-point roadmap of the forward plan, peace process, and terrorist acts committed by the NUG/PDF. The Army Chief proposed to extend the term of State of Emergency into a second term as more time is needed to restore the situations into normality to convene the multi-parties election as per Section 429 of the Constitution.
Acting President Myint Swe, Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw T Khun Myat, Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Minister of the Ministry of Defense General Mya Tun Oo, Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs Lieutenant General Soe Htut, Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wunna Maung Lwin, Minister of the Ministry of Border Affairs Lieutenant General Tun Tun Naung and special guests attended the meeting.
Vice President Henry Van Thio took a leave at the meeting for health reason.
