Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will fly to Myanmar tomorrow (August 3) to make a working visit and will meet with the country’s top leaders.

Lavrov’s official visit to Myanmar was declared on August 2 by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova during a press conference.

“The visit has been confirmed. I’ve learned that security has been tightened at two main airports since last week,” the source from the aviation sector told NP News.

“Sergey Lavrov will fly to Myanmar, but unlike Nancy Pelosi will travel for cooperation, not provocation – Russian Foreign Ministry,” Russia’s RT News expressed.

The visit will especially meet with Myanmar’s foreign minister Wunna Maung Lwin; also likely to meet with the State Administration Council’s Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

“The visit has been confirmed. Preparations have been arranged,” a source from the Foreign Ministry told the NP News on August 2 evening.

This is the very first visit of Russia’s Lavrov to Myanmar in previous five years.

Issues related to global affairs, regional political situations, trading, energy and food, defense technology, and regional cooperation will be discussed during this working visit.
