Terrorists drop 3 bombs on Buddhist monastery in Kawkareik killing one monk, injuring others

Three drone #bombs were blasted in Shwe Kyat Yat #Buddhist monastery as dropped by the #terrorists in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State on December 26 at an estimated 11:45 am, in which one Buddhist monk was killed and three monks including a ten years old kid monk were wounded.

“Yes, it was about 11:45 am. Three bombs were dropped on Shwe Kyat Yat Monastery. It stands countryside of Kawkareik very close to Kawnwe turn,” a witness near the scene confirmed NP News.

“At first, one of the monks got wound in his tight. The 10-years old little novice was injured in the back. Three other monks were also wounded. Later, the oldest monk who was hit in the head died,” the witness said.

Wounded monks and the little novice were sent and are taking medical care at the emergency room of Hpa-an hospital.

At the current, the little monk has been under medical treatment and other injured three monks have been taking medical treatment.

The kitchen building of the monastery was destroyed in the incident.
