Senior General visits naval base near Thandwe

The Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited the naval base located near Thandwe, Rakhine State and observed the naval exercises on January 19, according to the press statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC).

The Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing disclosed on the previous 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Navy Day that the #Myanmar_Navy is projected to build and upgrade to have the capability of operating globally across the deep waters of open oceans after it has been fully developed into ‘Three-Dimensional Combat Ready Navy’.

Possessing more than 140,000 water square miles with a coastal line of an estimated 1300 water miles, Myanmar now emphasizes the National Maritime Security as the third stage of its mission so as to reap an advantage from the Seaborne Trade, the country expects.
