Sasakawa visits to IDP camps in Mrauk-U and met with U Oo Hla Saw from ULA/AA

Chairman of the Japan #Nippon_Foundation Mr. Sasakawa paid a visit to Internal Displaced Persons camps in Mrauk-U Township in Rakhine State and made donation there. As per information, he also met with Rakhine political figure Oo Hla Saw from United League of Arakan / Arakan Army (ULA/AA).

According to Rakhine State Government, Sasakawa together with security forces arrived at the Tain Nyo IDP camp in Mrauk-U on 4th February and donated blankets at the camps.

“Yes, that’s true that Mr. Sasakawa paid a visit to Mrauk-U. He came here to donate blankets to the IDPs. Formerly, he used to donate rice bags to Rakhine people and those in the IDP camps. Now he is coming here to donate blankets. After the meeting with the Chairman of the State Administration Council, he said that he wanted to make donation at the IDP camps. Now, he is here.” one of the responsible personals from Rakhine State Government confirmed it to NP News.

He reportedly made an offer to open up schools for the regional development of Rakhine State.

The responsible personal continued, “What Mr. Sasakawa wants and also what the regional government want is giving supports to the IDP camps. After that we have plans to help the people from IDP camps to be able to return back to their original places. Mr. Sasakawa, he is very enthusiastic to build schools there for sake of regional development.”

Mr. Sasakawa also met with Oo Hla Saw from ULA/AA.

Oo Hla Saw attended the Diamond Jubilee of Union Day organized by SAC as a delegate of the ULA in 2022. He is a former Member of Parliament of the Pyithu Hluttaw.

In last August 2022, the crossfires between ULA/AA and Myanmar Military recommenced. However, four months later, the clashes ceased with the assistance of Mr. Sasakawa.
