Gwa wind power project expected to generate over 227 million kWh after completion

#Gwa_wind_power plant is the first wind power project in Myanmar; upon completion more than 227 227 million kW-h is projected to be generated annually.

The Union Minister for the Electric Power, Thaung Han, underlined it during his visit to the project site on March 12 in Rakhine State.

The Gwa wind power project will be constructed by Myanmar’s PRIMUS, Hong Kong based AED and China based YMEC in joint cooperation with capacity of 100 megawatts.

The very first three wind power projects in Myanmar will be constructed in Gwa, Ann and Thandwe townships and the Memorandum of Agreement was signed on March 1.

All three projects will be implemented to produce electricity in 2025. Amongst, the construction of the first phase of the Gwa project (50 MW) will be commenced in the upcoming December.
