AD license holder banks to sell USD for current expenses at Yangon Airport

According to the announcement made by the Central Bank of Myanmar on August 21, the AD license holder banks will be selling USD at the Yangon Airport for current expenditures for those who will depart.

The CBM allowed the AD license holders to sell seven currencies including USD at the licensed money changer counters.

The CBM is conducting mechanism to prevent illegal exchange market and to provide a convenient service for currency exchange for the citizens who are departing.

The Myanmar citizens who will leave the country for employment, medical case and educational matters are allowed exchanging USD 300 to 500 per person, according to the statement released on May 31.

Therefore, the AD license holder banks will be selling foreign currencies at the Yangon International Airport at both arrival and departure gates.
