Before the Buddha Pujaniya Festival at Mann Shwe Sat Taw Pagoda in Minbu Township, Magway Region, a total of 1,200 temporary guest houses and shops will be constructed.

The Buddha Pujaniya Festival at Mann Shwe Seto Pagoda will reportedly commence on February 14, 2024, following guidance from the Venerable Sanghas at the Pagoda.

According to the Mann Shwe Set Taw Pagoda Festival Organizing Committee, a total of 1,200 structures—consisting of 800 guest houses and 400 shops—will be built to accommodate visitors and pilgrims during the festival.

A resident of South Dagon Township in Yangon Ko Wai Phyo Oo commented, "We visited last year, and we plan to go again this year. Despite ongoing political conflicts, the Buddha Pujaniya Festival remains a significant religious event for all Buddhists."

According to reports, pilgrims from across Myanmar attending the Mann Shwe Set Taw Pagoda Buddha Pujaniya Festival will be permitted to stay overnight in the 800 guest houses, following the established rules.

Furthermore, it is reported that systematic security measures will be carried out to ensure the safety of visitors and pilgrims, allowing them to enjoy a peaceful time at the festival.

Currently, preparations for the Pagoda festival include diverting the water of Mann Creek, reclaiming land for the construction of guest houses and shops, and implementing measures to prevent erosion along Mann Creek.

Additionally, maintenance work is underway to enhance the infrastructures within the pagoda compound.

"As far as I know, those projects will be implemented before the festival. The maintenance work on the Bailey Iron Bridge, which was used last year, will be completed before the festival's opening," said a resident.

In conjunction with the Mann Shwe Set Taw Pagoda Festival, the Shwe Set Taw Mann Creek Elephant Recreation Center, featuring an elephant museum, will also be inaugurated.
