Upper Kengtawng hydropower project expected to be completed in upcoming fiscal year

The upper Kengtawng hydropower project constructing near the Kengtawng Town located in southern Shan State will be completed in the upcoming fiscal year, according to the statistics of Department of Hydropower Implementation.
The Upper Kengtawng hydropower project is being constructed by No.5 Hydropower Implementation Department under the Ministry of Electric Power to fulfill the domestic electricity demand by collaboration with experts from Japan, Switzerland and Norway.
A total of 80.52 percent of the whole project has been completed in October. Upon the completion of the project, approximately 700,000 populations will be able to access the electricity.
