4 new investment projects permitted to start for 2024

Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) permitted four new investment projects to start for 2024, as per reports.

The MIC permitted the projects during the meeting of (1/2024) held in Naypyidaw on January 5th .

The permitted 4 new investment projects that have been approved are from the industrial sector, housing construction and development sector and the service sector.

In the meeting, the MIC also approved to increase the capital investment of the companies.

The investment amount of these enterprises is nearly 49 billion kyats, which will create employment opportunities for 392 local workers.

There are 52 countries invested in Myanmar including Singapore, China and Thailand as of end of November.

These countries and regions that have invested in 12 economic sectors, with 28.5 percent of the total investment in the energy sector, 24.45 percent of the total investment in the oil and natural gas sector, and 14.41 percent of the total investment in the industrial sector, according to data from the MIC.
