The People’s Party led by former 88 Generation student U Ko Ko Gyi has engaged the ceremony of opening the headquarters in Yangon’s Pazaungdaung Township on 27 January.

During the ceremony, the People’s Party chairman U Ko Ko Gyi delivered a speech and highlighted that the country is invaluable and cannot let it ruined; and therefore, fair and just negotiations have to be conducted.

“I would like to address during this opening office ceremony that we have to review and accept what things the ethnics have lost and what they really want. For that, we have to conduct fair and just negotiations and discussions by the political means. We cannot let the country ruined. That is our stance and objective,” U Ko Ko Gyi said.

At present, crossfires are happening in various regions and states across the country between the Tatmadaw and non-State armed troops.

U Ko Ko Gyi also urged to reconsider the rational paradigm among the different groups in resolving the political crisis.

“The Tatmadaw who holds the power at present should mind that they cannot build the country with the strength of the numbers of Tatmadawmen and the amount of weapons. We cannot build the country with many discrepancies in paradigms within each other. We cannot point the finger to others for blaming. We should find solution for the problems,” he said.

At present, armed conflicts are ongoing in Rakhine, Shan, Kayin, Chin, Sagaing, Magway and Bago states and regions between the Tatmadaw and the ethnic insurgents groups, and the PDF terrorists
