Myanmar, China talk advance cooperation and strengthen border security

High-level delegation from Myanmar led by Vice-Senior General Soe Win and China recently held talks in China discussing the progress on Myanmar-China Cooperation and to strengthen border security cooperation.
Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Vice-Senior General Soe Win held discussion with China on 8 July at Qingdao's International Conference Center in Qingdao, China.
Mrs. Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship, and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization joined the talk on the Chinese side.
During the discussion, both sides shared perspectives on maintaining stability and peace in the border regions, emphasizing the need for robust security measures to facilitate the implementation of relevant projects. Additionally, they tackled issues such as preventing illegal border crossings, combating online gambling, and addressing drug trafficking. The exchange of information between the two countries, along with efforts to boost bilateral trade and promote investment, were also key topics of the discussion.
Diplomatic activity between Myanmar and China has strengthened in recent months, with several high-level meetings and discussions taking place. –
