Electricity and Energy Development Commission formed with 17 members

An announcement was issued on 18 December that the Electricity and Energy Development Commission has been formed with 17 members and chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San.
The Electricity and Energy Development Commission will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San from the Prime Minister's Office, with Deputy Minister U Aye Kyaw from the Ministry of Electric Power serving as the secretary and Deputy Minister U Thant Sin from the Ministry of Energy as joint secretary.
Deputy Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun will serve as the commission's vice chair -1, and Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin will serve as the vice chair-2.
Other members included Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Deputy Minister for Defence Maj. Gen. Ko Lay, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj. Gen. Toe Yi, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Min Htut, Director of the Military Engineering Corps Office at the Ministry of Defence Maj. Gen. Zaw Naing Oo, and Secretary of the Myanmar Engineering Council U Hla Win Htay.
The State Administration Council has also announced that specific duties and responsibilities of the committee will be issued separately to enable the accelerated development of the electricity and energy sector.
