Researches show that 75 percent of youths who followed terrorism and joined the armed insurrections in 2021 political transition were found those who attended the political and human right training courses at the American Center and the British Council, U Thein Tun Oo, executive director of the Thayninga Institute for Strategic Studies said.

U Thein Tun Oo made the abovementioned remarks at a discussion on the national crisis and the roles of the government, citizens, and political parties held by the People's Pioneer Party in Kyauktada Township on February 2.

“They (youths) became half-baked (in ideology); especially, the American Center and the British Council provided the political related courses. Outcomes from those courses did not reach to support the liberalism. It is sad to see that 75 percent of those who joined the armed resistance and insurrections are the ones who graduated from those courses,” U Thein Tun Oo said.

He said that the current situation has arisen because these young people too much prioritize emotions and personal worshipping although they like liberalism.

Therefore, he said in the discussion that many truly skilled politicians are required to resolve the current political situation.
