RCSS urges stakeholders to engage talk for peace

The Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) has issued a statement following its annual meeting of 2024 on February 24-25 at its headquarters in Loi Tai Leng. In the statement, the RCSS urges different parties of stakeholders to engage talk for long-term sustainability of the peace and building federal democratic union.
According to the RCSS statement, the meeting was joined by senior members of the RCSS, members of the Central Executive Committee, Central Leading Committee, Central Committee, and local members.
At the meeting, discussions were held to review the strengths and weaknesses of the reports that were made in 2024 and presented by various departments. Additionally, an extensive analysis was conducted on the current political, military, administrative, and economic situations, as well as other operational matters, leading to the formulation of future action plans.
The RCSS highlighted the public sufferings that were greatly impacted during the past four years due to ongoing conflicts. Furthermore, natural disasters have caused additional hardships for the people. In response, the RCSS has provided as much assistance and support as possible.
The RCSS stated in its announcement that it will continue to collaborate with local communities in rural areas and townships to carry out regional administrative tasks. Additionally, the RCSS emphasized its commitment to resolving Myanmar's political issues through dialogue and negotiations.
The statement also urged relevant organizations to engage in face-to-face discussions to achieve lasting peace and to establish a federal democratic union in Myanmar. –
