Attack by Chaung-U PDF near Ngah Yan Village in Sagaing results in civilian deaths

It is reported that three people, including a mother and her two children, died when the terrorist group, Chaung-U People's Defense Force (PDF), set off landmines and launched an attack on a passenger express near Ngah Yan village, located on the Monywa-Mandalay road, Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region.
The incident occurred on March 4, when the Chaung-U PDFs, which ambushed the passenger vehicle, which was traveling towards Chaung-U. The attack was carried out by a combined force of the Chaung-U Township PDF and its allies, terrorist groups. They detonated landmines and launched an attack on the vehicle.
As a result of the PDF’s landmine attack, a 27-year-old woman, who was from Monywa, was killed instantly from head injuries at the scene. A two-year-old child, who is believed to be her child, also suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.
In addition, a 50-year-old woman was killed, and a 40-year-old man and a woman sustained injuries. Local media also reported that another long-distance vehicle was involved in the attack, in addition to the passenger vehicle. Due to the attack and the fighting, many other passenger vehicles traveling toward Monywa were stuck at a standstill in the Nat Yekan area. –
