Htet Nadi (NP News) - July 26

The Myanmar Embassy in Thailand issued a warning today (July 25) to Myanmar nationals in Thailand not to travel to the Thai-Cambodian border area, where there is ongoing fighting.
The Myanmar embassy said that reports indicate that there is ongoing exchange of fire on the Thai-Cambodian border, and that people living in the border area are being warned to move to safer places.
The statement said that since these two countries are friendly countries with Myanmar and are also ASEAN members, Myanmar believes that the current problems between the two countries can be resolved peacefully.
Therefore, the Myanmar Embassy has issued a notice to Myanmar citizens in Thailand to avoid traveling to the Thai-Cambodian border area and to be aware of their own safety to prevent any unwanted incidents from occurring amid the ongoing conflicts between the two countries.
Myanmar citizens in Thailand and Cambodia can contact Myanmar embassy for assistance if they encounter difficulties, said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson for the State Administration Council, on July 24.
