3,483 innocent civilians killed by terrorists within 18 months after 2021 coup

At least 3,484 innocent civilians were killed in the anti-government revolution in Myanmar injuring another 3,065 with 41 missing, according to the official data released. The figure, 3,484, includes monks, nuns, public service personnel, administrative officials and children.

After February 1, 2021 coup within the country, the arisen anti-government terrorist groups established illegal committees, parallel government, terrorist organizations to destroy security, stability and peace of the country.

“There were 7,246 attacks carried out with bombs/grenades/mines; 6,567 assaults and murders, and 1,094 arson attacks, altogether a total of 14,907 violent incidents across the country,” said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in his speech delivered today (August 1, 2022).

The terror incidents mostly occurred in Sagaing Region with 4,026 times followed by Yangon Region with 2,442 times; then, Mandalay 2,194 incidents, and Magwe Region 1,395 times of terror incidents occurred.

“Over the past 18 months, large numbers of weapons and ammunition made their way into the country. The weapons and ammunition seized from terrorist groups include 6,311 assorted arms, 335,184 rounds of ammunition, and 11,715 grenades and mines,” said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

A total of 6,236 terrorists were arrested.

Last updated figures say a total of 54 Buddhist monks and a Buddhist nun were brutally killed; nine were injured and eight missing as of August 1, 2022.
