Heavy wind destroys houses in a village in Yay Kyi of Ayeyarwady

Eight houses were destroyed by a strong wind in Magyilahar village located in Yay Kyi township, Ayeyarwady Region yesterday before dawn (September 19) at an estimated 3 am.
“It happened at an estimated 3 am. It was terrifying that the wind howls. I was shocked. No one expected that the strong wind will blow during such a deep sleep time. Roofs of our house were gone,” a local woman told NP News.
A tree was fallen on a house due to the wind. There was a woman and a child in the house and fortunately, they weren’t hit in the incident, she continued.
“Four houses were totally destroyed. Four houses were flying off roofs in the wind. Now, rescue teams and charity organizations have arrived in the village since we reported the incident to Yay Kyi township administration department,” the village administrator told NP News.
The villagers who lost their houses in the wind are low-paid workers. Now they are in hardship for living on both food and accommodation.
