Myanmar-Korea Friendship Dala Bridge 53 percent finished construction

According to the Ministry of Construction, the construction of the #Myanmar_Korea_friendship_bridge over the Dala River has been completed in 53 percent.
The bridge construction project was started in May, 2019. According to the ministry, the construction is scheduled to be completed at the beginning of 2024.
The Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge over Dala River is being built with the financial assistance from the Republic of Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of 137.833 million dollar with Myanmar government contribution 30.341 million, a total estimated cost 168.173 million dollar.
The Dala River Bridge is the largest and longest steel cable-stayed bridge in Myanmar with a total length of 6,128 feet.
The bridge is 1,891 feet long to Yangon side with 47 feet wide two lanes; with the length to Dala side is 1,972 feet; with the width of bridge approaching with four lanes is 87 feet. It has a load capacity of the bridge is 75 tons per vehicle.
At present, the construction has completed 53 percent. After 100 percent completion of the bridge, transportation between Yangon and Ayeyarwady will be developed and travel time between the two region will be shorter, according to the Ministry of Construction.
