Ex-President in NLD administration receives SAC’s honorary title

The former president #Htin_Kyaw who was appointed by the National League for Democracy (NLD) personally received the honorary title awarded by the State Administration Council (SAC) on behalf of his late father, a noble Burmese writer, namely Min Thuwank.

The SAC announced issuance of conferring honorary titles and medals as a mark of 75th Independence Day that fell on 4th January 2023. In the list, the noble writer of the contemporary literature of Myanmar, Min Thuwank, received the Sithu Title.

The ex-president Htin Kyaw is his son and he attended personally to receive the award on January 19 in Naypyidaw.

Htin Kyaw served as the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar from 30 March 2016 – 21 March 2018. His wife Su Su Lwin was a member of parliament of Pyithu Hluttaw representing the NLD in 2012 and 2015. Her father U Lwin was a veteran and former deputy prime minister of the Burma Socialist Programme Party (BSPP) regime as well as the founding member and secretary of the National League for Democracy (NLD).
