Inle Lake to re-convene Floating Thingyan Festival this year

The Chairman of the Myanmar Tourism Federation notified that #Inle_Floating_Thingyan Festival is expected to re-convene in the Inle Lake in the upcoming Water Festival.

The Inle Floating Thingyan Festival was held in 2019; however, after 2019, it couldn’t be convened for three consecutive years for various situation.

"It will be difficult to join the Inle Thingyan Festival for the travelers from Yangon. But the domestic travelers from the surrounding regions come to Inle and join the festival,” Naung Naung Han said.

However, at present, the influx of both domestic and foreign tourists to the Inle region is increasing. Although the number of tourists may be lower than before, the Floating Thingyan is expected to be crowded, he remarked.

There will be entertainment programs including music performances, traditional dance competition and traditional dances in the festival.

In addition, new year food donation ceremony to the monks will be held from the pre-Thingyan to Myanmar new year day.
