The UEC created the ‘Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine – MEVM) and it seems to be used in the upcoming election.

The UEC explained about the mechanism of the machine including control system; voting system; inspection of whether the vote is valid or invalid; system of the ballot basket and batteries; counting the vote results; packing and saving the voting machine; and safety of the machine.

The UEC informed that the MEVM doesn’t depend on the electricity so that it can be used in both rural and urban areas across the country. The UEC also guarantees for no wasting the valid votes; accuracy; and preventing vote rigging.

Using voting machines can avoid too much cost for printing ballot papers; and many other costs including ballot baskets, rubber seals, and related accessories.
