Commerce Minister invites China and ASEAN to expand investments in Myanmar

The Union Minister for the Ministry of Commerce Aung Naing Oo invited China and SAEAN countries for expand trade and investment in many sectors in Myanmar as Myanmar has many potentialities in business for those countries.

The Union Minister addressed it in his speech while attending the 5th China-Southeast Asia Economic Forum held in Kunming on August 17.

“Myanmar welcomes trade and investment from China and ASEAN countries by cooperating in many sectors. China and Southeast Asian countries also need to promote more cooperation between business communities in order to identify good future prospects and opportunities,” said the Union Minister.

The Minister Aung Naing Oo continued that Myanmar is actively participating in ASEAN economic processes

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) center has been opened in Pilot Free Trade Zone located in Kunming, China for more convenient in international trading processes among traders and investors. It is also reported that Myanmar products are being sole at the RCEP center via online.

In addition, the Myanmar products are being exhibited at the 7th China-South Asia Trade Fair and 27th China (Kunming) Export-Import Trade Fair that is being held in Kunming, PRC from August 16 to 20.
