Construction material import increases in Myanmar; monthly cement import worths USD 1 mln

According to the data received from the Ministry of Commerce, entrepreneurs are importing cements since the opening season is coming and the construction projects are projected to be carried out.
As per information told by an officer from Trade Department, the country imports cement worth 1 million USD monthly.
In August, Myanmar imported over 23,000 tons of cements which worth 1.887 million USD through border trade route and shipping route.
Again in September, the country imported over 16,400 tons of cements which worth 1.44 million USD through border trade route and shipping route.
However, construction material prices in Myanmar increase doubled to that of last year prices. Therefore, the developers carry out only important and essential projects.
