SAC pardons amnesty for 9652 detainees marking 76th Independence Day

The State Administration Council (SAC) released a total of 9652 detainees on the 76th Independence Day to honour the 76th Independence Day.

The SAC claims that the amnesty is an emblem of respecting humanitarian.

The prisoners were released under Section 401 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code with condition, which prescribes if they commit the crime again, they will have to continue to serve the remaining penalties.

In addition, 114 foreign prisoners of both genders were also released and deported, as per report.

In previous 75th Diamond Jubilees of Independence Day, the SAC Chairman also pardoned a total of 7,012 detainees from respective prisons.
