Medicine exhibition to be opened in Yangon, Bago in February

It has been reported that the Myanmar Pharmaceutical & Medical Equipment Entrepreneurs Association (MPMEEA) will lead to hold sales and exhibitions of medicines and pharmaceutical products, especially in Yangon and Bago regions, in February.
With the aim of ensuring that the public can purchase and use medicines at reasonable and fair prices, and to prevent medicine shortages, the MPMEEA held the 2nd pharmaceutical sales event from January 27 to 31, daily from 9 am to 4 pm, at the Mingalar Kantaw Hall (near the horse statue) in Pyinmana District, Naypyidaw. During that event, 40 pharmaceutical companies included in showcasing a variety of medicines.
An official from the MPMEEA said, “In order to make medicines easily accessible, there are also rotating doctors available. For example, if you want a specific medicine, they will help find it. However, if it is unavailable, they will assist in finding a similar one with the same generic but different brand. Additionally, they will clearly explain all matters related to medicines. A variety of medicines will be available in one place, including those for diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions, kidney medicines, various kinds of supplements, antibiotics, fever recoverage medicines, and cough medicines."
In addition to the possibility of difficulties in purchasing medicines and other challenges, to prevent the purchase of wrong medicines and to ensure that people can safely buy similar alternative medicines with proven efficacy, physicians and pharmaceutical experts will be available at the exhibition to provide guidance and services.
As the MPMEEA, it is known that they held the first direct pharmaceutical sales events in July and August 2024, opening sales centers in Yangon, Naypyidaw, and the Bago regions.
