Myanmar Airways International (MAI) held a ceremony to launch a new direct Mandalay-Chiang Mai route at Mandalay International Airport on February 10.
The new Mandalay-Chiang Mai route is the first new route to be added to MAI's international network by 2025, and is the fourth route that the MAI will operate via Mandalay International Airport.
For initiatives of the flight, the aircraft arriving at Mandalay International Airport and Chiang Mai Airport were welcomed with water cannons, and souvenirs were given to passengers who boarded the flight.
MAI will operate a new Mandalay-Chiang Mai route every Monday and Friday starting on February 10.
MAI has completed the renewal of its International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, the most stringent standard in the global aviation sector, and is enhancing passenger safety procedures.
MAI has been certified by the IATA (IOSA) since 2012, and this renewal is one of MAI’s efforts to ensure excellent flight operations and passenger safety. The IOSA Program is a globally recognized program for its rigorous aviation safety audits.
The IOSA is a global industry standard designed to assess an airline's safety management system, quality assurance and operational management across all aspects of its operations. Passing this most difficult assessment for any airline is a remarkable business achievement.
