Beijing closely watching Myanmar, supports stability measures

Myanmar's National Defense and Security Council (NDSC) announced on July 31 that it would lift the state of emergency, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun commented on the announcement at the Chinese Foreign Ministry's daily press conference.
"As a friend and neighbour of Myanmar, China is closely monitoring the situation in Myanmar," he said.
"We will support Myanmar in maintaining stability. We also support Myanmar in advancing its domestic political agenda in a proper manner and in promoting inclusive national reconciliation. Furthermore, we support Myanmar in pursuing a development path that suits its national conditions," he added.
"We welcome parties and organizations in Myanmar to appropriately handle differences within the framework of the constitution and law and through political means," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun.
