Chairman of the Arakan Front Party (AFP) Dr. Aye Maung urged the State Administration Council Government and the United League of Arakan/ Arakan Army to have a dialogue between them, telling that there is a force within Rakhine State which anticipates flare-up of the state with armed conflicts.
Dr. Aye Maung commented on the incidents of recent arrests between Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA). He encourages the stakeholders to maintain the current peace within Rakhine State.
“What is happening in the current situation is a clash between two governing mechanisms. Both sides were effectively reconciled in the past. In any case, we want the stakeholders to come up with a solution after discussions. Therefore, we urge the two sides to rebuild the mutual trust,” he said.
“So we need to consider who will get advantages from regional instability. There is a force that wants to destabilize. I saw comments on social media that some entities want a war in Rakhine State. We are saying to negotiate and to compromise. However, that force humiliates what we are saying. I wish both SAC and AA recognize that” he added.
In recent days in Rakhine State, AA troops kidnapped Tatmadawmen and vice versa Tatmadaw conducted strict inspection processes within Rakhine State.
