Chairman of the Lisu National Development Party (LNDP) Shwe Min told that the State Administration Council will convene the election in 2023 at any means. However, it will be better if the process has public participation.
He told this information to the NP News when asking his comment whether the election will be possibly held in 2023.
“Regarding with the 2023 election, as it is involved in the SAC’s five-point roadmap; I think the SAC will convene the election at all costs. However, how much public participation will be conducted is a matter. It will be better if there is more public participation is conducted. Only then, the country will be peaceful and improved. Otherwise, the improvement won’t be a hundred percent. In fact, there might be instigations infiltrated by those who do not involve in the electoral process. It might be the hindrances to the country’s prosperity,” said the LNDP chair.
At present, the union election commission has been processing voter list preparations, ground verification, and drafting laws and bylaws for the PR system to hold the election with the PR system.
Shwe Min continued, “We, the LNDP, will do our best for the Lisu ethnic,” although he doesn’t satisfied with the PR system.
