Suu Kyi charged additional three years imprisonment for ruling UEC

The former state council Aung San Suu Kyi and former president Win Myint had been sentenced to three years imprisonment for influencing over union election commission.

Naypyidaw Special Court has made these prison sentences on Suu Kyi, Win Myint and former minister Min Thu today.

“The court sentences three year imprisonment each under Penal Code Section 103 (a). The lawyers said they will file the appeals. In the previous court trial, the prosecutors couldn’t show full evidence of over 11m vote fraud. They could show only 2000 of it. Therefore, the lawyers will submit appeal regarding with it,” a source from judicial pillar told NP News.

Union Election Commission filed case against Aung San Suu Kyi, Win Myint and Min Thu for ruling the union election commission by misuse of their political power.

Aung San Suu Kyi, 77 years old, has already been sentenced to 17 years imprisonment in other cases including four corruption charges.

Therefore, she is now received a total of twenty years imprisonment so far and now is being detained in Naypyidaw Prison in a separate unit in well condition.
