#Military_operations in some territories have to use #pack_animals to transport and deliver the ammunition and rations of the troops. At present, new cavalry battalions have been expanded by the military up to five for serving the logistics duties of military units in different military commands.

The Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council as well as the Deputy-Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services #Vice-Senior_General_Soe_Win addressed this during the ceremony to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Supply and Transport Corps held at Naypyidaw on 7th November.

Farming pack animals and medical treatment of the animals are the major duties of the Supply and Transport Corps.

Vice-Senior General Soe Win also said those pack animals still play an essential role in supplying rations, ammunition, and other necessary items in such operations as running in areas with difficult transportation and remote places where cars, airplanes, or waterway transportation cannot easily access.

The Supply and Transport Unit was established in 1947 only with 30 pack animals. However, the Supply and Transport Corps is now extended with up to 5 battalions, he continued.

Different supply and transport units, battalions, and training depots have been added in transport camps and ration supply bases.

Moreover, the 1st Cavalry Division was established in 2017 to march at the military parade and other state-level ceremonies.
